Hope First Panmure Bridge.

One sunny Friday Kia Toa, went to see the first Panmure Swing Bridge. We went with Mrs Sharma, Miss Ashley and Miss Jade and some of our parents. The first thing we did was hike to the Panmure Yacht Boating Club where the old Panmure Swing Bridge was made. Then we all gathered together and talked about how the Swing Bridge would open and close for all the boats, ships and punts. After talking about the first Panmure Swing Bridge we went to see where a man that use to paddle back and forth from Panmure to Pakuranga fields. That exact same bridge was starting to become week and rusty so it got demolished.

In America about 2 weeks ago there was a footbridge that collapsed on a 8 lane highway the footbridge was probably made out of concrete and steel for pedestrians. There were skyscrapers and during the collapse there were four people that got seriously injured and there were emergencies and there were over ten survivors but they all went to go get the other four people.

Something that was new for me was that I have never heard about the Panmure Swing Bridge before and that it is new for me.

Hope sgraffito of Mokoia pa.

My sgraffito shows Mokoia Pa which was the Maori that grew vegetables with fertile soil. The Fortified Pa was a village where the Maori people lived. Next to the volcano was the Tamaki River that had lots of fish and was amazing for transport on a waka.

WALT: I learnt how to create a scraffito. I learnt about Mokoia Pa.We also learnt about the two previous Panmure Bridges.

My challenge was that I have never done a sgraffito.
My challenge was learning about Mokoia pa.

ALL ABOUT ME

Greetings to you all my name is Hope. I am 12 years old and I am a year 8 student that attends Tamaki Primary School. I am a part of the Kia Manawanui and I am proud to be part of Tamaki Primary. My favourite food is KFC and I think I'm good at making friends with other people. My goal for this year is to become everyone's friend/Best friend. My favourite sport is Rippa Rugby because it just seems kind of easy but a little bit hard. I am half Tongan and half Samoan and I am proud of my culture and I would love to learn about other cultures and what they love the most. The thing I am looking forward to the most is spending a lot of time with the year 7&8 students and I would love to get to know all of the teachers every single day.
