Card castle

                             Card Castle

WOW, On Tuesday afternoon the non kapa haka group from Room 8 went to Kiwi Can. In fact at Kiwi Can we played a game called card castle. In addition how you play this game is you get half a stack of cards. Then you just make it stand on top of each other to make a castle. We only had like about five or six minutes to make the castle and the groups were girls vs boys and the boys WON.

Boxing

WALT: Learn how to box using the 3 commandments.

One of the 3 commandments  is Respect I will have respect for myself,my coach, my pears and the sport of boxing

The other commandment is Discipline I will have discipline
to turn up to every session and give my 100%

The last commandment is Safety I will not cause any harm to others and only practise boxing under a guidance of a coach.
I felt excited at first because it was my first time doing boxing. I also felt hot because I was working physically hard. My hands felt sweaty because of the enormous boxing gloves we were wearing.

Thanks Pax I would like more boxing lessons and more
time to learn boxing skills and Pax made it fun for us during the lessons.

Tuakana Teina

WALT: Learn with each other and Learn from each other.

On Wednesday morning the 20th of September the
students in Room 8 spent the day in Room 3.

Firstly, Miss Gormley was talking to us about how we should behave when we are in the classroom and out of the classroom. After a while she told us to go outside so she could budy us up. Did you know that we had to plan an earthquake proof house. Later on we had to take a video and explain what we were going to do with it then we had to make it.

Secondly, After we took a video it was morning tea and after morning tea we were still finishing off our earthquake proof houses. We also had to use stuff to make sure the house is earthquake proof so it doesn't break apart.

Lastly, The bell rang for lunch time then later after lunch miss Gormley tested our houses to see which one is more earthquake proof. Furthermore Miss Gormley sent us back to class then the bell rang for home time at 3 o’clock.

In conclusion, We went to Room 3 so we could have budy time
with them and to make earthquake proof houses.

Magic Snow

Wonderful, magic snow! In the morning of Wednesday 29th of August the students in Room 8 did a science experiment.

Firstly, Mrs Bracey was explaining to the students about the history of magic snow. In fact the product was polymer this is a science ingredient that we used for the experiment. Did you know that the part of science we used polymer for was the chemistry part, while Mrs Bracey explained it the students were listening so we could follow the instructions. Something you need to know is that the place Mrs Bracey got the magic snow packet from was New world.

Secondly, the things Mrs Bracey gave us was the magic snow packet, scissors and a transparent plastic cup. In fact the next thing we did was we poured the magic snow into the plastic cup then we poured one half of water into the cup. I was super excited.

Finally, when we poured the half cup of water into the plastic cup the magic snow rose up like a cake. In addition I was shocked because I thought it was going to fall and make a mess and it did. A little while after we poured the water in the cup stirred it then it started to feel dry and squishy after that we had fun and we made a lot of mess in the classroom it was the best experiment EVER.
